About Ohio UAP sightings

Ohio ranks 8th nationally. Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton is one of the most significant military installations in U.S. UFO history — it was the headquarters of Project Blue Book from 1947 to 1969, and has long been the subject of rumors about recovered UAP materials. Former Air Force officers and congressional staff have made claims about materials housed at Wright-Patterson that have never been officially confirmed or denied.

Rickenbacker ANGB in Columbus and the Defense Supply Center contribute additional military activity. Lake Erie has produced some of the most extensively documented USO (unidentified submerged object) reports in the Great Lakes, and the 2012 Lake Erie orb footage was widely circulated.

Ohio's diverse geography — combining major urban centers with extensive rural areas — produces a correspondingly diverse sighting profile.
